As a teacher, craftswoman, and artist, my path to wearable art has been like a vintage crystal necklace, long and multi-faceted! I began making jewelry in the late 1980’s after many years of creating hand-painted clothing. Some of my enthusiasms since have included felting and kumihimo braid weaving with beads and fancy fibers, making bead embroidered jewelry and bead-fringed scarves, and lots and lots of knitting. More recently, off-loom bead weaving is where my creative impulses have taken me, the results of which you’ll see as you browse my shop. And even more recently I’ve been having lots of fun making crazy quilt squares. Whether I’m fringing a shawl, focusing on a Chakra piece, or mixing and matching fabric for a Crazy Rose, art gives me joy. Making wearable art fulfills my need to create with color and light, translating the images in my head into touchable, shareable eclectic enhancements and fiber fantasies.
